Where is the ‘#’ key on a mac keyboard?

# Sign

The ‘#’ key which usually appears in the corner between the ‘enter’ and right ’shift’ keys on the typical UK keyboards is absent on apple keyboards. So, how do you key in the ‘#’ key if you are using a mac?

Answer: Press ‘Alt’ + ‘3′!

It turns out that the ‘#’ key, commonly known as the pound sign in the US is referred to as the hash key in the UK while the pound sign is ‘£’, the UK currency. ‘£’ is what actually appears on apple keyboards above the ‘3′ key and to type in the ‘#’ key from a UK keyboard, you actually need to press ‘Alt’ + ‘3′!
