Invisible Shield to protect your Gadgets

June 24th, 2006

The invisible shield from ShiedZone is as the name suggests a very thin (about 0.2 mm or 0.0008 inches) film that you apply to the surface of your device (iPod, phone, laptop etc) to protect it. But this isn’t your typical cling film in the kitchen cupboard. It was originally designed for the US military to protect the edges of helicopter blades so the blades would withstand hundred mile-per-hour dust, dirt and sand.

With this level of toughness built into a film so thin, the invisible shield is guaranteed to protect your device from scratches without sacrificing its looks. The shield is so tough that it is almost impossible to rip it apart with a pen.

If you are still not convinced of the level of protection this shield provides, David over at Mobility Today has an excellent video review in which he applies the shield to his brand new Motorola Q and then puts it to the test by continuously scratching it with a key. See it for yourself:

The invisible shield comes with not only a 30 day money back guarantee but also a lifetime warranty. So, if your shield gets scratched, torn or damaged, they will replace it for free!

Shields are available to fit wide range of devices:

  • iPods
  • MacBooks
  • MacBook Pro
  • Mac Mini
  • Mobile Phones
  • Game Consoles (PSP, Nintendo DS, etc)
  • Tablet PCs and even
  • Watches

All shields are accurately pre-cut to the exact dimensions of your device. To see if an invisible shield is available for your device, check out their website at www.shieldzone.com. The company is based within the US but they also offer (free) international shipping!

[…] After removing the invisible shield screen protector on my iPod, I applied the full body shield which covers just under 100% of the iPod’s surface. Once again, I’ve been very impressed with the results! I am most pleased with the ability of the back cover shield to prevent fingerprint stains. If you’ve always hated the way the back metal casing of your iPod attracts fingerprints, the invisible shield will definitely put an end to this while at the same time protecting it from scratches in a way that no iPod case will.
